Fairchild Cars
Our 1991 Mitsubishi 3000GT VR4 - definitely the fun car in the family. We bought this in August of 1995 - we took Amy's Saturn in for a brake job and wandered through the large multi-brand car dealership. We happened upon the Mistubushi dealership and were just browsing, looking at a brand new 3000GT - pretty, but pricey. On a lark we told them to tell us if they ran across any used ones that were in good condition - they happened to have this one that had only 20K miles on it - it was used only during the summers by a doctor, who traded it in on a new VR4 Spyder. We took it for a test drive, and were hooked. Definitely the largest "impulse buy" of our lives...
![]() Our 1999 Oldsmobile Bravada - we leased this car in April, 1999 when we found out we were pregnant with twins. Prior to getting the Bravada, we only had the VR4, which definitely wouldn't abide by having two car seats installed.
![]() And now our 2001 Chevrolet Venture WB. We bought this in May 2001 after we found out we were pregnant with baby girl #3 (due in October). It was difficult for us to take the plunge into true suburbia and get the minivan, but this car was the only one that would enable us to get to 3 car seats easily. Even the SUVs with the third row of seats wouldn't work out for us, as it would be impossible to convince two year old toddlers to hop into the back and nicely climb into their car seats. The minivan is really nice, including a power sliding door, a VCR / LCD screen combination so we can hypnotize the girls with Teletubbies on long trips, and a slew of other things we're just now reading about in the owner's manual (e.g. how to use the car's computer to program the sensitivity level of the car alarm, or program how the power locks will interact with the gear selector and the remote keyfob, or how to use the "Reverse Aid" system that will allegedly keep Amy from backing over things, cars, people, etc.) You can see more pictures of the van by clicking here, or on the picture below.
