Visiting the Prison
On Sunday, October 21 we brought the family to New-gate Prison - kind of a strange place for a family visit, right? Actually, Old New-gate Prison & Copper Mine was America's first copper mine, and also the very first colonial prison. It's now open to the public, and features a picnic area with a nice view. We took the scenic route getting there, driving around Connecticut's scenic back roads for a couple hours, taking in the fall foliage. Here we are!

![]() I couldn't figure out a way to get the stocks into the minvan without anyone noticing - I'm sure they'll come in handy right around the time the girls start dating...
![]() That's right, Shelby - your hand goes in right about... THERE!
