Amy's Visit to Ted & Beth's / Our Visit to the Grandparents / The Girls / More of The Girls / Winter Snow / Weekend Away

A week or so ago I ordered a bunch of stuff from Amazon (lots of geeky stuff, like a network hub, an Ethernet cable, a headset for videoconferencing on the laptop, a CD player for Amy to use at the gym, and other stuff that you care even less about...)  Knowing how Shelby likes electronics, I'm sure she would have loved to play with all that stuff (did I ever tell you about the time she played with my cell phone to such an extent that her baby drool killed it and we had to get a replacement at the Sprint PCS store?).  However, we wisely kept all that stuff out of her reach and let her play with the box and the packing material.  She loved it!

Until, of course, she tried to lean backwards in the box and it tipped over.  No injuries were reported.

Hayley, meanwhile, was making mincemeat out of the kitchen cabinets.  We're talking recipies, phone books, pasta maker parts, chinese restaurant menus, cookie cutters - you name it, it was on the floor.

Who, me?  You must be mistaken - it was like this when I got here, I swear!  I think it was Shelby who did this... or maybe Wolfgang - yeah, that's the ticket!  (You can see the top of Shelby's head at the bottom of the picture, pleading her case...).

Mommy Mommy - it wasn't me!

Here Daddy's helping the girls play with their fun riding toy that Rangy (Grandma Fairchild) got for them.  They really love it, because it's very light, so when one of them is pushing it around the house they can easily steer it around obstacles and such.  Both Hayley and Shelby can do complete laps of the house unaided!  And, when someone wants to take a ride (Hayley in this case), the other is more than willing to push her around.  In this case Mom or Dad needs to be around to help navigate, as the extra 20 pounds on top of the toy makes it tough for the pusher to turn, especially when the driver randomly turns the steering wheel, as Hayley is doing below.
